A William IV Satinwood and Carved Gilt-wood Centre Table.
This piece of furniture was recently restored in our workshop.
Amongst some of the repairs that we carried out to it were:
This piece of furniture was in a very distressed condition.
A very large quantity of the carved and gilded moulding running around the edge
of the top was missing, along with a lot of the veneer from the base and the edge of the top.
The feet were also badly damaged. The piece was also extremely faded.
We copied and replaced the missing mouldings.
We glued down all the loose and lifting veneer and replaced that which was missing.
We repaired the badly damaged feet.
We also replaced the missing boxwood and hare-wood inlay to the top.
All the repairs were carefully coloured in and polished to match the original and
the carved mouldings that we renewed were gilded to match in with the original
The whole piece was finally revived and waxed up.
